Wijsneus

(EN) The ‘Wijsneus’ project revolves around the real-time visualization of air quality by cyclists on, around and to the T2-campus in Genk (BE). Air quality is made visible along streets, paths and roads via traffic signs with integrated LED-strips and sensors. Cyclists are encouraged to put the traffic signs together themselves by means of a do-it-yourself kit and place them along their daily cycling routes. In this way, cyclists can adapt their cycle routes to the campus and choose the healthiest route. The project – which is a collaboration with the T2-campus and the City of Genk – creates an involved community of people who are concerned about air quality in their immediate environment and on the road.
