Historische sensatie, digitale innovatie

(NL) Technologie en musea lijkt geen vanzelfsprekende combinatie. Zeker niet bij een museum zoals Plantin-Moretus waar traditionele boekdrukkunst centraal staat. Toch onderzoekt ‘Historische sensatie, digitale innovatie’ de mogelijkheden van technologie voor het interactiever maken van een museumbeleving. Een interactieve bezoekersgids brengt analoog en digitaal samen: oude druktechnieken worden bovengehaald, maar deze keer in de vorm van inkt die elektriciteit geleidt. Door middel van verschillende interacties met de inkt komen de audiofragmenten van de audiogids tot leven.

(EN) Technology and museums do not seem an obvious combination. Certainly not at a museum like Plantin-Moretus where traditional printing is the focus. Nevertheless, ‘Historical sensation, digital innovation’ explores the possibilities of technology for making a museum experience more interactive. An interactive visitor’s guide brings together analogue and digital: old printing techniques are revealed, but this time in the form of ink that conducts electricity. The audio fragments of the audio guide come to life through various interactions with the ink.
